Excursion en campagne de Dublin au Powercourt Estate
jeudi, 18 août 2011, 20h27 | Route du port de Dublin au Powercourt Estate | Lundi, 25 juillet 2011 - 09h30-17h15 - Powerscourt Estate, Waterfall & Nature Walk DUB165A Dublin, Ireland A full day of breathtaking beauty is yours to enjoy as explore Powerscourt in the Wicklow Mountains. You'll witness the Powerscourt Waterfall and take a guided nature walk to the Dargle River. A local pub serves up complimentary traditional Irish lunch before your visit to the lush Powerscourt Estate. WHAT YOU VISIT Powerscourt Waterfall - Glaciers formed the waterfall over 10,000 years ago. The brown water of the Dargle - colored by local marshes and bogs - falls from 400 feet and gathers into a peaceful stream that flows through the beautiful Dargle Valley. Powerscourt Estate and Gardens - Home to the Slazenger family, Powerscourt Estate boasts a superbly landscaped formal garden providing views of the green Wicklow Hills. Enter the estate along an avenue lined with 200-year-old beech trees and then have free time to explore the garden, tour the new exhibition rooms in the house, or watch a video on the history of the estate. YOUR TRAIL WALK Your walk begins next to the waterfall, a nature trail descends along a ridge carved by glaciations. While the trail is steep in places, alternate paths exist. Follow the fern-covered banks of the Dargle through native birch groves. Eleven posts mark spots along the trail where you can stop, learn about the local flora, and appreciate the scenery. SHOPPING Several small gift shops at Powerscourt offer high-quality linens, woolens, crafts and local foodstuffs and souvenirs. LUNCH After your walk, take a break for lunch served in a local pub. WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY Board your motorcoach for a narrated drive through the outskirts of Dublin to Powerscourt. View the green rolling countryside and the Wicklow Hills along the way. | © Marcel Walter Landry | Fichier: dublincarte.jpg
